STS Professional’s Hollow Air Removal Test or ‘HART’ test (9S-HART) is manufactured to ISO 11140-6:2022 in the ‘helix’ style to demonstrate the air removal & steam penetration efficiency for hollow items in small steam sterilisers.
The HART test may be used for daily and/or routine batch monitoring in every cycle for hollow air removal & steam penetration testing to AS5369:2023.
The HART test is made up of the PCD device and 250 Type 2 chemical indicator strips (to ISO 11140-1:2014 & ISO 11140-6:2022).

***** IMPORTANT
These tests are built to ISO11140-6, a more rigorous test for air removal and steam penetration (ARSPT) than previously manufactured 'Helix Devices' to EN867-5.
Please note that some cycles/brands with limited air removal cannot pass this test, or other ISO11140-6 Hollow ARSPT's.
It is not the fault of the device.
The device is, in fact, proving that the cycle choice is unable to remove all air from the chamber, a fundamental requirement for effective sterilisation of a hollow item.
These concerns should be addressed to the manufacturer of the steriliser.
Refunds will not be offered for the HART Test "not working or changing colour", as the test is fit for purpose and doing its job, highlighting this fundamental issue.
ISO11140-6 sets a standardised approach to the design of Hollow PCD's and all benchtop sterilisers designed to EN13060 should pass any brand of device manufactured to ISO11140-6.
